Summer 2019 Goalie Clinic
Rousseau's Hockey Clinic has been offering training for goalies ever since we began our program 33 years ago. As our clinic grew, so did our attention to training goalies. In 1999, we asked John Racine to join our staff as our lead goalie instuctor and he has done a wonderfull job developing our goalie programs. John brings several years of experience training goalies and will head our summer goalie clinic.
Developing as a hockey player requires a long term commitment to skill development, physical conditioning and rest. This concept applies even more to goaltenders. It is our belief that players gain more when practicing over a longer period of time. We are committed to offering programs that extend through a number of weeks. As a result of the constant repetition of task specific drills, while under the watchful eye of our experienced instructors, each goalie has ample time to absorb concepts and to attain mastery over new skills.
The skills required to be a successful goaltender are not complex, however, in the context of a game, these skills must be executed quickly and flawlessly. Success depends on close attention to detail and the ability to move efficiently. These skills are learned though repetition and from quality feedback. We have designed our goalie clinic to not only teach proper technique, but to also provide the necessary practice. In addition to our experienced staff of goalie instructors, our staff includes several quality shooters for all age levels.
Our Summer Goalie Clinic will follow our proven format of 7 weekly ice sessions skating for one hour each week. The practice plans will progress through the different moves and saves that a goalie is required to make and will focus on proper movement and execution of those saves. The practice plans will also provide ample opportunity to practice these saves each week.
The Goalie clinic will skate on Monday evenings at 6:10 PM at the Family Ice Center in Falmouth. The clinic will begin on Monday July 8 and will skate for seven consecutive Monday evenings.
The tuition for our Goalie Clinic is $210 and will provide seven hours of on ice instruction, a high quality jersey, and over 100 years combined experience in developing goalies. A deposit of $125.00 is due with your application, and the balance is due by the first session.
Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis and space is limited to thirty goalies. We hope to have the opportunity to train with you this Summer.
